Thrill your little princess with a special quilt for her first big-girl bed. It’s just the right size for a toddler bed; larger than a crib quilt but still small enough for a little one to handle. Make matching pillow cases and she’ll love her fancy bed! Choose her favorite theme (I used the “Princesses” line from Elizabeth Studios), frame the focus fabric with a narrow flat piping and the pieced blocks dance all around. Fussy cut motifs for the centers and then paper piece the square-in-a-square blocks for speed and accuracy. Note: This pattern is written to paper-piece the square-in-a-square blocks and familiarity with paper-piecing techniques is presumed. If you choose an alternate method to make these blocks, make sure you have plenty of fabric. |
